Emphysema

Follow-up for diffuse lung diseases
PATHOLOGY DEMONSTRATED (1-3)
Non-contrast study
-
Diffuse lung conditions of the interstitium such as:
-
Interstitial lung disease
-
Cystic lung disease
-
Small airways disease
-
Pulmonary micronodules
-
Bronchiectasis
-
PATIENT PREPARATION
-
Patient able to lie still for ten minutes
-
Not claustrophobic (sedation may be given)
-
Cognitively capable of following basic instructions, including breathing instructions (inspiratory, expiratory and prone images are required)
-
Metal artefacts removed from the region of interest
-
No respiratory distress when lying supine
