CT NECK NON CONTRAST
*Soft tissue neck CT without contrast (not c-spine)
INDICATIONS (1-6)
-
Goiter suspected
-
Suspected or known salivary gland stones
-
To assess for foreign body when radiograph is inconclusive or negative
-
For evaluation of tracheal stenosis
-
Iodine contrast contraindicated
PATIENT PREPARATION
-
Patient able to lie still for five minutes
-
Not claustrophobic (sedation may be given)
-
Cognitively capable of following basic instructions
-
Metal artefacts removed from the region of interest
-
No respiratory distress when lying supine
